In case your dog or cat needs surgery and the veterinarian requires an overnight stay make sure that qualified staff, such as a trained assistant or a vet is available to monitor your animal during the night. Most post surgery problems are likely to arise during the first 24 hours.

Female Dogs in Heat

Female dogs are only able to mate while “in season”, also called “in heat”. Male dogs can be sexually active all year long.

A female dog - also called “bitch” will come in heat about every six months. The heat lasts for up to three weeks and the bitch will experience her first heat cycle at around 6 - 7 months. Some larger dog breeds at 8 - 9 months.

Sometimes it takes “forever”..

When our four-legged friends take forever to “go” ..

I dare to say that every animal owner has been in the situation when we are a little short on time or it’s very cold, but the dog takes forever to do his business. Especially male dogs are pretty good in testing the patience of their owners. They are capable of “portion control”, much more than females.
