This virus is deadly in puppies and transmitted by the mother, during labor, or by other puppies from the same litter. Puppies die within 8 to 14 days after infection and experience abdominal pain, anorexia, and sometimes depression.

No vaccination is available for this virus, therefore it is very important NOT to breed an infected female; make sure that the area where the puppies are born and live is proper protected/sanitized.
